Phil Foden struck twice early on as Manchester City secured an historic fourth successive Premier League title with a convincing 3-1 win over West Ham.

That ensured City held off the challenge of Arsenal, who claimed a late win over Everton thanks to Kai Havertz's injury-time strike. However, Mikel Arteta's men had to settle for second.

Jurgen Klopp's final match as Liverpool boss ended with a 2-0 win over 10-man Wolves, on an emotional day at Anfield.

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace thrashed Aston Villa - for whom it meant little having secured Champions League qualification in the week - Tottenham beat Sheffield United to ensure fifth place and Chelsea beat Bournemouth to end the season on a high in sixth.

Manchester United won at Brighton, but Newcastle's win over Brentford means Erik ten Hag's side must win the FA Cup Final to qualify for Europe after their worst ever Premier League campaign.

Well that's a wrap for 2023/24

Man City are the champions, again, pushed all the way by Arsenal.

Man Utd had a season to forget, Aston Villa had one to remember.

And the three promoted teams went straight backdown.

It is the FA Cup final next weekend, where City will be big favourites to see off United, and then it is all eyes on the Euros.

Over and out.

Pep reflects on his historic success

He told Sky Sports: "For Arsenal to push us to another level - before it was Liverpool and the last two seasons it's been Arsenal. This one has been incredible. We get the message, we know they will be there for many years.

"Young manager with big talent - they sent us a message that you have to be careful for the next few years. When I moved here if someone had said I would win six leagues in seven seasons I would say you're insane - no way. All these players for Manchester United and Liverpool and Chelsea, all these teams. Now is our period. We are part of that."

Pochettino hints at future plan

Mauricio Pochettino revealed he had dinner with chairman Todd Boehly on Friday in the clearest sign yet that he will remain in charge of Chelsea next season.

But the head coach refused to divulge any details from the meal after the Blues sealed sixth place to guarantee European football with a fifth consecutive win. Pochettino is expected to have a season review with sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart in the coming days.

And after offering a series of coy comments in recent weeks, Pochettino said of the debrief: “I don’t have an idea about this but I can tell you on Friday night Todd invited me for dinner and it was a very nice dinner. I don’t know about this review. My staff tomorrow is flying [on holiday], I’m staying a few more days in London and my phone is going to be on."

Ten Hag opens up on poor Man Utd season

He said: "It is not good enough by far. Although we had less than 60 points two years ago, 58 points, eighth is the worst performance. It is the truth but we should have done better.

"We know the reasons behind, everyone knows, but it is not the right moment to go into it. It’s not good enough."

De Zerbi's guard of honour

Some unwanted history for the red half of Manchester

Man Utd could not escape more unwanted history despite recording a morale-boosting final-day victory at Brighton ahead of next week's FA Cup final.

While Roberto De Zerbi's Albion tenure ended in defeat, Newcastle's convincing win at Brentford meant United recorded their lowest-ever Premier League finish (8th) and they must now beat Man City at Wembley next weekend to secure European qualification.

It's also the first time in Premier League history they've finished a campaign with a negative goal difference - that has not happened at Old Trafford since the 1989/90 campaign.

Klopp already backing Slot

Jurgen Klopp sent a clear message to Liverpool supporters to get behind his successor Arne Slot as he said goodbye to Anfield on Sunday, even singing the Dutchman's name.

The Reds boss has called time on his Liverpool career after 491 games as boss, with the final one seeing his side beat Wolves 2-0 thanks to first half goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Jarell Quansah as the Reds finished the Premier League season third in the table.

Dutch boss Slot will succeed Klopp in the Liverpool hotseat in the coming weeks, and when he addressed supporters on the pitch after the game Klopp sang the Feyenoord boss' name as he pleaded with fans to support the 45-year-old.

Klopp's departing message

"Thank you. If you sing that song next year that would be funny.

"It doesn't feel like an end. It just feels like a start. Today I saw a football team play full of talent, youth, creativity, desire, greed. That's one part of development, that's what you need obviously.

"In these few weeks where I have had too much attention, I realised a lot of things. People say I turned them from doubters into believers. That's not true. You did it. Nobody tells you to stop believing. This club is in a better moment than a long time.

"We have this wonderful stadium, training centre and you - the superpower of world football. Wow.

"We decide if we are worried or excited. We decide if we believe. We decide if we trust or don't trust. Today I am one of you and I keep believing. I stay believing 100%.

"Obviously I saw a lot of people crying and I will tonight too because I will miss people but change is good. Everything will be fine because the basics are 100% there.

"You welcome the new manager like you welcomed me. You go all in from the first day. You keep believing. You push teh team. I'm one of you now. I love you to bits.

"Thank you. You are the best team in the world. Thank you!"

Man City's trophy presentation is just moments away..

The trophy is being carried out by club icon Paul Dickov.

He has his own place in Man City's history books.

Klopp's Anfied lovin'

The German and his coaching staff have come back out onto the pitch, one by one, so that they can enjoy the Anfield applause.

Klopp walked out and tipped his hat to the fans before hugging and embracing some of the club's senior figures.

Haaland lands Golden Boot again - history now in his sights

Erling Haaland has claimed the Golden Boot for the second straight year after another prolific season with Manchester City.

The Norwegian wasn't able to replicate the highs of his record-breaking debut season in the Premier League but he still ended up with 27 goals to his name. Haaland has, once again, been City's main source of goals as he continues to become one of Europe's finest marksmen.

Arteta - "don't be sad, we're going to get it"

Arteta has addressed the Arsenal crowd after they saw off Everton and finished second in the Premier League.

"All this is happening because you started believing, you started to be patient and started to understand what we tried to do. All the credit has to go to the players and the staff," he said.

"Don't be sad. We want much more than that and we’re going to get it."

Close but not close enough for Arsenal

Not to be at the Emirates

They were by far a more improved outfit on last year, but it is still second for Arsenal.

They couldn't put any pressure on their rivals on the final day, but the Gunners and Arteta are tipped to eventually end their title wait.

Klopp to address Anfield

Jurgen Klopp is getting ready to come back out and greet the Anfield crowd one last time.

A stage has been set up in the centre of the pitch and the club's owners, directors and ambassadors - Kenny Dalglish among them - are stood waiting.

The players are ready to give Klopp a guard of honour.

Klopp bows out with a win

We're set for an outpouring of emotion at Anfield. Few managers can match the impact Klopp has had on a club and a city.

Man City fans are always look to get one up on those at Man Utd.

Ferguson won 13 Premier League titles - but never did he manage to go four in a row.

He did two separate hat-tricks, but Pep's run of title victories is something the Scot could never achieve.

The Etihad is covered

They needed just seconds to invade the pitch.

Some fans were so eager in stoppage time that the City players had to usher them off the pitch.

Either way, they're smiling.

City's own Invincible

Rodri, who scored on the final day once again, is now unbeaten in 50 Premier League games.

The only times Man City have lost this term is when they've been without the Spanish star.

He's simply outstanding, one of the most influential players around and seemingly he just doesn't lose.

Arsenal's win meaningless

They did what they could, but they fell short again.

Here's our take from the game in north London.

Some reaction from Foden..

He told Sky Sports: "It is so hard to put into words. I think now we've put ourselves into the history books, you see what it means to the fans and us.

"This Premier League felt a little bit more because no one had ever done (four in a row)."

Man City do it once more

They are the champions - again.

This Man City side are, in the eyes of many, the greatest Premier League side in history.

Pep isn't going anywhere so few would bet against them retaining their crown yet again in 12 months time.
