Broadband companies are slashing prices on internet packages. But Hyperoptic has an offer that might catch your eye if you're in the market for a deal.

The broadband firm, competing with giants like EE and Sky, has unveiled a new offer where you can bag a £50 gift card with their affordable broadband packages. For a limited time, Hyperoptic has even reduced the cost of its superfast internet speeds.

Starting at just £17 a month for 150mb/s download speeds, you'll receive a £50 gift card that you can spend on Amazon, John Lewis or M&S after signing up for a 24-month contract. To snag this deal and the gift card, remember to use the code HYPERSAVING at checkout.

But if you're a gamer or live in a household that's always downloading and streaming, you might want to opt for speeds of more than 500mb/s. Hyperoptic has also slashed prices on its fastest speeds, including 500mb/s for £25 a month and 1gb for £30, which could be some of the best prices out there.

The only downside is that not everyone will be able to access Hyperoptic, as it depends on your location. You can check if your postcode is eligible for the service here.

Hyperoptic also provides shorter broadband contracts if you don't want to commit to 24 months. The only drawback is that you won't get the gift card and you'd pay a bit more each month, but it could be handy if you're planning to move house soon.

After your 24-month contract ends, you'll be hit with a higher broadband bill, so it might be worth shopping around for a cheaper deal - or try negotiating with Hyperoptic to lower your bill. When you sign up, you'll receive a free Hyperhub router and there's no need for a phone line installation, although options are available if you require one.

However, if you fancy other options, there are some cracking broadband deals out there. For instance, Gigaclear is currently offering a whopping 900mb/s for just £29 a month.
