Jamie Foxx is back on his feet and thriving, according to his daughter Corinne Foxx, after a concerning health scare last year.
The Hollywood icon, aged 56, had stepped away from the limelight from April until December following an undisclosed health issue. However, Corinne has now shared with 'Entertainment Tonight' that her dad is not only back in action but also joining her on their show 'Beat Shazam', saying: "He's doing so great, he's doing amazing."
She expressed her joy at being able to work alongside him, adding: "[I'm] so grateful to be able to work on ['Beat Shazam'] with him and spend so much time with him." Foxx seems to have found a new passion in pickleball, as Corinne reveals: "He's playing a lot of pickleball! That man and pickleball; it's like he's playing twice a day every day... It's a whole thing. He's fully in it."
As Corinne plans her wedding to Joe Hooten, she admits the process has been "stressful", but Jamie has been lending a hand, despite their differing ideas for the big day.
She humorously recounted: "He was telling me he wanted LED screens with my face on it and I was like, I don't know about all of that.." While she jests about keeping her father from making a grand entrance on horseback, she anticipates that Jamie will be deeply moved during the ceremony. Corinne shared her concerns: "I'm a little worried about him walking me down the aisle."
"Obviously it's gonna be beautiful and amazing but, yeah, he's gonna be crying for sure." Despite the scare, Jamie has kept the details private, with his return to the public eye only occurring in December since his absence began in April 2023.
The 'Django Unchained' actor confessed that a mere six months ago, he was unable to walk due to an undisclosed illness, describing the experience as something he wouldn't wish on his "worst enemy". At the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, Los Angeles, he was met with a standing ovation as he made his way across the stage to receive the Vanguard Awarda feat he acknowledged would have been impossible earlier that year.
Overcome with emotion while addressing the audience, he shared: "You know, it's crazy, I couldn't do that six months ago - I couldn't actually walk." He reflected on his ordeal, stating: "I cherish every single minute now - it's different. I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it's tough when it's almost over ... when you see the tunnel. I saw the tunnel - I didn't see the light."
In a lighter moment, he quipped: "I'm not a clone, I'm not a clone. I know a lot of people who was saying I was cloned out there."
