Adele fans may not have to wait that long for new material with the ballad hitmaker believed to be in the midst of dropping another album.
The Chasing Pavements singer, 34, is well-known for keeping her adoring fans on their toes with lengthy waits for new music to land but it is thought she could be set for more hits just two years after releasing latest album 30.
Adele has allegedly been writing and recording new music for the last 12 months after being inspired by love - instead of heartache - after getting engaged to American sports agent Rich Paul.
Fourth studio album '30', which came out in 2021, was her first release in six years but according to The Sun she has written "her most uplifting and positive songs ever" which could land later this year.
A source told the outlet: "Some of 30 was actually recorded before the pandemic hit so Adele was sat on the record for ages during lockdown.
"Since then her life has totally transformed. She has gone from rock bottom to being madly in love and wants the world to know it.
"Her music reflects that and the next album will be her most optimistic ever. She won’t be the queen of heartbreak ballads for much longer."
The British superstar has just finished her first Las Vegas residency with her Weekends With Adele show at The Colosseum at Caesar's Palace, which was initially cancelled just 24 hours hours before the opening show in January 2022.
However, she bounced back in style to perform 34 shows during the maiden stint and recently extended her run with the same number of dates at the same 4,000 capacity venue from June until November later this year.
Adele confirmed the extending of her residency during her final show of her initial run last month. She said: "I am coming back for a few weeks in June and I’m going to film it and I’m going to release it to make sure that anyone who wants to see this show can see it."
Adele first met Rich at a mutual friend’s birthday party before making their relationship official in summer 2021 and they have gone from strength to strength.
They have been spotted at the 2022 NBA All-Star game, while the couple also attended Super Bowl LVII where global superstar Rihanna returned to perform the Half Time Show.
Rich was in attendance for Adele's opening show of her delayed Vegas residency alongside grime artist Stormzy.
