Personally identifiable information

This website does not collect personally identifiable information about individuals except when individuals provide such information on a voluntary basis by sending us their comments. Personally identifiable information collected will not be sold or provided to third parties without user consent. Upon request, we will delete the user and his or her personal information from the database associated with this website.

Personal details

As an National Landscape Unit we keep personal details for legitimate business purposes related to our work and role, and with given consent e.g. for our enewsletter.
All personal details are stored on Somerset County Council encrypted devices and we comply with their IT systems.

Enewsletter

When you subscribe to this service, by providing your email address, you are consenting to receive marketing from us which is occasionally contained in the e-newsletter and you agree that we may process your information in accordance with this privacy policy. Additionally, as we use MailChimp to automate our e-news, by subscribing your information will be processed by MailChimp in accordance with their privacy policy and terms which can be viewed on the MailChimp privacy page (please note this is an external website).

You can change your mind at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the footer of any newsletter email you receive from us. We will treat your information with respect.

Volunteers and Young Rangers

Contact details are retained on our volunteers so that we may communicate with them in relation to their voluntary role and for us to have emergency contact details.
Contact details are updated every 12months and only held on current volunteers. Contact details are held for our National Landscape Young Rangers/ Advanced Young Rangers for the period in which they are registered and attending the scheme. When the scheme finishes all contact details are deleted.

Personal details are never provided to a third party.
Alongside the encrypted devices the volunteers and Young Rangers contact details are stored on a password protected spreadsheet.
