Deployment by default of certain features

The filters and design improvements have received constructive feedback from many users, so we plan to move those filters out of Beta, to make them available to everyone.

You can discover all improvements made on the project page.

When the deployment will be done, it will be possible to keep the Recent Changes pages like they are now (default state) through an option in your preferences.

Will be released by default:

The schedule is announced on Phabricator.

Seems like a strange deployment. The first places to be deployed by default should be the test wikis and probably mediawiki.org at least one week before it is done everywhere else. The ores filters won't work here, but every thing else should work just fine.

If it doesn't work here then you'll have time to fix it before it hits other wikis that don't have ores either or have different and stranger configurations.

All those features are available as Beta ones on all wikis. This is the test phase and we get plenty of feedback.

Features existing on the Recent Changes have been redesigned as the new filters. Current features have been kept and improved. Concerning new features, like highlighting or bookmarking, are original and then independent from local configurations.

Have you seen some things that may impact a wiki where you are active on?

Most filters seem fine. The one that will probably cause problems will be ores because it seems to be considerably slower by its very nature.

http://wikidata.org/wiki/Special:tags has also had problems loading for many months, and may equally cause problems elsewhere.

ORES filters are slower by nature, like you say. We haven't received feedback about speed, specifically for those filters.

Do you have more information about Wikidata tags issues?

Thanks. We will monitor the wikis where the filters are deployed by default to see if there is any related impact.
