About Stats

Aims

Stats (ISSN 2571-905X) is an open access journal of statistical science. Stats provides an advanced forum for studies related to statistical methodology, theoretical results and their applications. It publishes reviews, regular research papers, and short communications, as well as Special Issues on particular subjects.

The aim of Stats is to encourage scientists to publish their experimental and theoretical results in as much detail as possible. There is no restriction on the maximum length of the papers. Full experimental details should be provided so that the results can be reproduced. In addition:

  • Manuscripts regarding new and innovative research proposals and ideas are particularly welcome;
  • Electronic files or software comprising the full details of calculations or experimental procedures, as well as source codes, can be submitted as Supplementary Material (if unable to be published in a normal way).

Scope

Statistical methodology and theoretical results are applied to all areas of science, including biology, sociology, geography, physics and astronomy, economics and finance, education and engineering. Moreover, emerging fields use statistics to assist in decision making, such as machine learning, medicine and law.

Some examples of methods and analysis include:

  • Multivariate analysis;
  • Linear and non-linear models;
  • Sampling theory;
  • Regression analysis;
  • Statistical inference;
  • Time series analysis;
  • Survival analysis;
  • Non-parametric and semi-parametric statistics;
  • Spatial analysis;
  • Cluster analysis;
  • Probability;
  • Data science and machine learning.
