Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The field of acute ischemic stroke has witnessed remarkable advancements in recent decades, particularly with the emergence of reperfusion therapy. This Special Issue, entitled "Treatment Strategy and Mechanism of Acute Ischemic Stroke", aims to offer a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of acute ischemic stroke management, covering the entire stroke continuum. This Special Issue intends to serve as a robust platform for stroke researchers, clinicians, and experts in this domain.

Encompassing a wide range of subjects, this Special Issue includes topics such as multimodal imaging techniques for precise diagnosis and prognosis, innovative interventions for optimizing patient outcomes, and mechanistic studies uncovering the intricate pathways that underlie acute ischemic stroke as well as inequities in stroke care. Discussions will encompass pertinent ongoing matters, including existing research gaps, health systems, and practical challenges in routine clinical practice. There is a pivotal focus on evidence-based studies that contribute to the advancement of diagnostic and treatment approaches.

By focusing on these aspects, this Special Issue seeks to bridge the gap between research and clinical practice in acute ischemic stroke management. In line with recent research trends, we encourage submissions that offer novel insights into personalized and precision medicine approaches, exploring the potential of tailored interventions based on clinical, imaging, and pathological phenotypes.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Neurology International is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
