2013 The inaugural issue was released. Atoms was published as a quarterly journal.
2015 Atoms was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).
2017 Atoms was indexed in Scopus (Elsevier), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).
2019 Atoms received its first CiteScore (2018) of 1.20, ranked 36/69 in "Nuclear and High Energy Physics", 105/173 in "Atomic and Molecular Physics, and Optics", and 239/397 in "Condensed Matter Physics".
2020 Atoms launched new positions—Topics Editor and Reviewer Editor.
2022 Atoms announced the first edition of the Best Paper award.
Atoms announced the third edition of the Travel award.
Atoms received its CiteScore (2021) of 2.8, ranked 37/76 in "Nuclear and High Energy Physics", and 114/205 in "Atomic and Molecular Physics, and Optics" , and 236/415 in "Condensed Matter Physics".
2023 The year 2023 marks the 10th Anniversary of Atoms.
