About the Culinary Employment Pathways Program

Our culinary training program includes access to relevant and essential resources, like the California Food Handlers Exam, personalized wellness practices, and worker’s rights education with the goal of connecting you to food jobs with competitive pay, positive work environments, and growth opportunities.

Whether you’ve worked in a restaurant before or have no experience in the kitchen, if you’re looking for kitchen training that will translate into working in a professional kitchen, you’ve found it! We are looking to work with community members who are facing any barriers to employment with an emphasis on people returning home from incarceration. Our requirements to participate are that you’re able to commit to ALL 13 weeks of the program, are looking for employment, and have a curiosity or passion for food.

In the Culinary Education Pathways we prioritize leading with empathy, compassion, and kindness. We recognize that you might be dealing with life situations outside of the kitchen and strive to create a space alongside participants that allows you to explore your curiosity and build your skills in an environment that will prepare you for your internship in a professional kitchen.
