We are Swisstainable. We are part of the sustainability programme Swisstainable, classified at Level III – leading. Swisstainable unites businesses and organisations along the entire Swiss tourism sector. Our participation highlights our commitment to continuous sustainable business development. We actively pursue measures in the field of sustainability and thus make a concrete contribution to a sustainable Swiss tourism.

Sustainability is about doing the right thing by ourselves, by our colleagues, by our families, and by the planet.

Doing the Right Thing for Our Planet

We have taken initiatives to avoid single-use plastic, such as replacing disposable items in our rooms with innovative bamboo-based toiletries. Our waste reduction commitment involves separating sources to recycle plastics and general waste. To cool our rooms sustainable, we utilize water from Lake Lucerne. During recent renovations, we prioritised energy-saving measures, like LED lighting and motion detectors in all 136 guest rooms to reduce unnecessary power usage when rooms are unoccupied.

Doing the Right Thing for Our Guests

We aim to encourage guests to adopt sustainable practices not only during their stay but also upon arrival and departure. Guests travel for free on public transportation within Lucerne, and we also offer E-Bikes and an electric house car for city transportation. In our restaurants and bar, we have innovated with a premium filtration system, transforming tap water into drinking water. Every guest order also supports the environment and communities in Africa through our partnership with WASSER FÜR WASSER.

Doing the Right Thing for Our Community

Our colleagues are crucial to achieving our sustainability goals. We have established an internal team to pursue initiatives benefiting both our organisation and the community. We prioritise impactful partnerships, like collaborating with Trash Hero for waste collection and offsetting CO2 emissions through ClimatePartner. Additionally, we donate clothing to Caritas Foundation Switzerland and support the Make a Wish Foundation. While our partnership with Stiftung Brändi promotes social inclusion.
