Our canals and waterways make for a scenic day out no matter what, but there's something new luring visitors this summer.

The Crepe Factory Afloat attracted crowds when it was moored up in Boothstown, Salford, last weekend and is heading to a new location to give customers their sweet fix.

As well as selling crepes with various sweet and savoury fillings, from Nutella and strawberries, to ham and cheese, it serves up ice creams, cakes, milkshakes, coffees and a whole lot more.

It's run by couple Sandra and Robert Fell, from Nelson, Lancashire, who moved onto the boat and started the business 14 years ago, after retiring from their other jobs in landscape gardening and manufacturing garden ornaments.

They also run their All Things Spanish business from the boat, selling everything from bags and wooden carvings, to Spanish spices, tapas and fresh ground Spanish coffees.

After moving from their spot close to The Moorings pub in Boothstown, this weekend, June 29 and 30, the couple will be at Pennington Flash, in Leigh, Wigan. The following weekend, July 6 and 7, they'll be back in Boothstown. Weather depending, the opening hours are 10am to 5pm on both days.

Sandra, 76, said: "We do get quite busy. The crepes are popular but the biggest seller is probably the ice cream, especially when the weather is nice.

"We're a seasonal business so we open from Easter to the end of September. In July we're at the Gnosall Canal Festival and then the week after we're in Market Drayton. We'll probably be back on the Bridgewater Canal in August doing Boothstown and Pennington again, but that's not set in stone yet."

Crepes cost £5 each, with ice creams £1.50 and coffees around £2.50. Sandra uses her All Things Spanish Facebook page to update customers as to where they'll be each weekend, using what3words to give people the exact location.
