We may not have had much of a summer so far, but things are certainly looking up.

With temperatures soaring, it can be tricky to keep cool though and we don't exactly have homes with air con in this country.

In fact we don't get that much heat across the year do we, which makes it a bit silly spending a fortune on some big fancy fan that will hardly get used.

That's why I went in search of a small, cheap one and it does the trick brilliantly.

It's only a mini one, but I have it on my desk while I work and also next to me to help me sleep at night.

It costs just £2.99 from Home Bargains and you can either plug it into a laptop via the USB lead, or use the lead with a normal plug to have it anywhere in the house.

It kicks out a right draft considering it's just four-inches, but I love the fact it doesn't take up too much room on my desk and costs just pennies to run for an entire day.

Thankfully it's quiet too so doesn't disturb those phone calls and zoom meetings - the dog and postman do a good enough job of that.

The Pifco branded fan comes in black or white and is in stock at Home Bargains stores for £2.99.
