Turkish giants and Manchester United's Champions League group stage opponents Galatasaray are reportedly in talks with Donny van de Beek about a deal to leave Old Trafford.

Van de Beek has endured a nightmare stint with the Reds since joining from Ajax in 2020. Hopes were high, considering the reunion with Erik ten Hag, the 26-year-old would rediscover the form which made him a standout addition three years ago.

However, the midfielder failed to make an impression ahead of Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes or Casemiro last season. Things went from bad to worse when his campaign was ended prematurely due to injury.

While he has now recovered, Van de Beek has not yet featured for the Reds this term and an exit looks to be on the cards with just less than two years remaining on his contract. According to the Daily Mail, Galatasaray are continuing talks with United over a potential loan move after seeing a £1m loan offer rejected by the Reds earlier on transfer deadline day. Lorient and his old club Ajax have both reportedly been interested in Van de Beek but it is Galatasaray who are thought to be leading the way.

Elsewhere, Mason Greenwood's proposed move to Lazio appears to have fallen through. According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the Serie A club ran out of time to complete the deal. The report states: "In the last half hour of the transfer window, the Mason Greenwood chase was still open at Lazio. The Biancocelesti tried in the final minutes. The Biancocelesti, however, gave up on the Englishman. There was no technical time to complete the negotiation."
