The majority of Manchester United fans surveyed by the Manchester Evening News would like to see winger Antony sold this summer, with the club potentially cutting their losses with a sale.

The winger has been with United since joining from Ajax in the summer of 2022. The deal saw United pay a fee of £86 million to the Dutch side, but he has so far failed to live up to expectations.

Last season saw the 24-year-old score just once in 29 Premier League appearances, with that goal coming in a 1-1 draw with Burnley in April. He was an unused substitute in the final two league games of the season as well as the FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.

Antony’s performances have seen his estimated value drop significantly to £21 million, the joint-biggest value drop in world football over the season. That has, however, not stopped United fans making their feelings clear on the decision United should make this summer.

According to fans asked by MEN Sport via a keep or sell poll, just 12,347 out of 67,637 supporters polled (18.25%) would like to see Antony stay at Old Trafford in the new season. The remaining 55,326 (81.75%) want the winger to be sold in the current transfer window.

The problem for the club will be if they do decide to sell, making as much money back as possible. Antony has three years remaining on his current deal and no club has been linked with an interest in the winger. If they are to sell this summer, then United would likely have to take a big loss fee they paid out on him just two years ago.
