Manchester United are in talks with Omari Forson over a new long-term contract.

The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the most exciting young players at the club, and United are eager to protect his value after entering the final year of his current deal.

Forson began his youth career with West Ham and Tottenham before joining United in January 2019, where he has worked his way through the ranks.

The teenage forward was promoted to the U18 side at the age of 16 and signed his first professional deal with the club two years ago.

The Manchester Evening News understands United are now discussing a new and improved deal with Forson that will protect his long-term value and reward him for the recent progress he has made.

Forson was part of the United team that won the FA Youth Cup last year and was included in the squad for the summer tour of the United States.

He started against Borussia Dortmund in the final match of the tour but was substituted after 37 minutes following a heated confrontation with Karim Adeyemi that could have seen him sent off.

The forward has yet to make his competitive debut for United but was named on the bench for the Champions League defeat by Bayern Munich last month.

Forson has continued to shine at youth level this season, scoring six goals and registering two assists in six appearances so far.

He is one of the United youngsters who could potentially leave the club on loan in the January transfer window, with a final decision set to be made closer to the time.
