Cat Deeley has been told why she is 'perfect' for the This Morning job as she reshared a message from her famous husband. The presenter was officially revealed last week as the new host of the ITV daytime show alongside Ben Shephard.

The ITV daytime show has had a number of rotating presenters since Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's departures within months of each other last year, including Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle and Rylan. Cat Deeley last fronted This Morning back in November alongside both Rylan Clark and Craig Doyle, while Ben last hosted the show in September alongside Holly before she quit in October.

But from next month, it's Cat and Ben who will be This Morning's permanent hosts from Monday through to Thursday while Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary continue to present their usual Friday show.

The news was announced on Friday (February 17) in a bespoke promo on This Morning’s social media pages, showing Ben walking down the familiar This Morning production corridor and placing a new photo of Cat on the wall, before turning to the camera as the photo comes to life - with Cat giving viewers one of her signature winks.

Expressing their joy of joining the This Morning presenting team on a regular basis, Ben said: "This really feels like a very special moment for Cat and I to be part of the next chapter of This Morning. It’s an honour to be trusted with the reigns, join Alison and Dermot and all the team that work on and off screen and do such a great job.

"For the last ten years I’ve been waking up with our ITV daytime audience on GMB and I now look forward to spending time with Cat, welcoming the viewers home after the school run or from their early morning routines, with a cup of tea and a mix of everything that makes This Morning so loved."

Cat added: "This Morning is a national institution. Whenever it’s on, it’s like having your friends over - funny, smart, silly, heartfelt, informative and joyful - like all the greatest friendships! This Morning is and always will be the viewer’s show. Ben and I both know how much people love it, and with the help of an amazing team of people, we’re going to do our best to take care of it."

Support has since flooded in for the pair and over the weekend, Cat rehsared a post from her comedian and fellow TV host hubby Patrick Kielty. He took to social media with a compilation video featuing a number of pictures and videos of his wife alongside The Beatles track 'Here Comes The Sun'.

He then said: "I didn’t know what a morning person actually was until I met this woman. She gets up every day with a smile on her face. A 5.30am, whistling in the shower, smile on her face. Then downs two coffees, and gives you the look. The 'what the f*€K’s wrong with you, let’s do this' look.

"It’s not a pretend smile. And it’s not just some mornings. It’s every morning. Which is bloody difficult cos she’s married to me. I should also mention she likes a chat. To anyone. About anything. Anywhere. If there’s anyone in the world made for a show called @thismorning, it’s this human. Strap yourself in @benshephardofficial And welcome to my world. We couldn’t be prouder of you @catdeeley Go get 'em Mama!"

As she reshared the post, Cat simply said: "Thank you boys!! xxxx." Cat first met Patrick when the pair hosted BBC reality show Fame Academy in 2002 and 2003. There were no sparks at the time, but after a whirlwind nine-month romance, they married in Rome in September 2012 and no have two sons, eight-year-old Milo and six-year-old James.
