Travellers in Greater Manchester looking to go out and enjoy the sunshine today (Sunday, June 2) by hopping on a tram have been reminded by the Bee Network that for many lines, "no trams will operate."

Replacement buses are being put on for affected Metrolink passengers, including people heading to and from Manchester Airport, as well as those heading to AO Arena for the Manchester Thunder v London Pulse netball game.

The planned engineering works are disrupting all Metrolink services that operate through Victoria Station. This means that tram users on the Bury, Rochdale, East Didsbury, and Airport lines will not be able to use the light rail network for the entirety of today.

Bury services are terminating at Queens Road, Rochdale services at Monsall, and the East Didsbury line will terminate at Exchange Square.

Any trams from Manchester Airport will only go as far as Cornbrook, while Altrincham passengers will have to get off at the Etihad Campus.

Posting on X, the Bee Network stated: "Travelling by tram today? Remember, no trams will operate through Victoria. If you're travelling on the Bury, Rochdale, East Didsbury and Airport lines, replacement buses will be in place between affected stops."

Staff are said to be on hand to help passengers with these replacement bus services, most of which are running at 15-minute intervals until around midnight.
