A suspect has been named after a Mercedes was crashed into another vehicle and a wall after a police pursuit in Whitefield on Friday (June 14).

The two-car smash occurred on Bury New Road at around 8.35pm. The white Mercedes also mounted a wall before police officers, fire crews and paramedics raced to the scene.

Officers had first attempted to stop the car along the stretch, at around 8.15pm, moments before the collision. Pictures from the scene showed a large emergency services presence with the road closed off for a number of hours. There were no serious injuries reported.
