A gang of men armed with weapons smashed the window of a home in Tyldesley before launching an attack on their victim.

The group launched their attack on Barton Street at around 5.55am yesterday morning (Sunday, May 19). They showed up with weapons and smashed the window of a house.

They then 'confronted' a man - a man aged in his 20s - and 'seriously assaulted' him. The victim had to go to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said his injuries were not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening. No arrests have been made at this stage.

An investigation into the attack is ongoing, with officers now urging anyone with information to come forward. They also want to speak to anyone who has CCTV, dash cam or doorbell footage.
