SHOT Show reposted this
This week, I was in Las Vegas for #SHOTShowCX... It's a fantastic event, hosted by NSSF—The Firearm Industry Trade Association and ConvExx, that gives their exhibitors a great place to start their preparations for next year's show. My sessions included: 1. "SHOT or NOT?" A keynote-style session designed to empower exhibitors to think more strategically about their own exhibiting efforts, from booth design to company descriptions to pre-show marketing emails and more. I shared real life examples from previous SHOT Show events (and other events) and asked exhibitors to decide if their efforts were "SHOT-worthy" or "NOT-worthy" ...noting tips and ideas to bridge the gap, as needed. 2. "Stop Leaving (Free) Resources on the Table" A general session designed to raise awareness for several often underutilized resources/opportunities - almost all of these are free for exhibitors - and make them seem more accessible, so every exhibitor feels better equipped to take full advantage moving forward. During this session, I did some live polling... it was pretty cool to see how we went from only 30% of attendees who said they had tried the marketing toolkit previously (for just one example) to 89% who said they ARE planning on trying it this year, after learning more about it in this session! 3. "SHOT Show CX Recap" A quick session that closed out the event for everyone. After watching all of the other sessions, I compiled my top takeaways for exhibitors (session by session) and added in my own quick tip(s) so exhibitors could start implementing what they/we learned right away. I had been thinking about this concept for a while, so it was really great to get to test it out here. There's so much to learn during events like this and, especially for new exhibitors, that can be super overwhelming... so, my goal was to make doing the right things feel more easily approachable and actionable (so they actually get done vs only talked about). * Aside from the sessions, I had my first one-on-one meetings of the year with exhibitors and enjoyed the evening receptions too. Connecting with the exhibitors and reconnecting with the SHOT Show team members is always a highlight - I feel like, this year, I got to know everyone even better than before... Anyway, long story short, I can't wait to see how this work snowballs into so much success in January! Big thanks to Melissa Schilling, CEM and her team for including me again this year :) #TradeShows #SpeakerLife #Travel
