Thank you to all the partners that made this happen and to the small businesses and entrepreneurs who joined us! There are great things happening in the Flint Hills to build a resilient vetrepreneur community and deliver resources for all small businesses!
This week, the Flint Hills Vetrepreneur Foundation hosted the second Veteran Owned Business Summit with the theme, Strengthening Business Fitness. This event was a partnership between FHVF and U.S. Small Business Administration, Spark MHK, Junction City Main Street Program, Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce, Manhattan Military Relations Committee, Kansas Small Business Development Center, VetBiz and SCORE Mentors. A big thank you to our Event Venue Partners, PLEX Capital LLC , NetWork Kansas and USAA, for backing the event and showing up to engage with and support Veteran entrepreneurs. We learned valuable and practical business lessons during the Fireside Chat with two Veteran entrepreneurs, Zach McDaniel of Rolling Hills Construction and Derek Taussig of Taussig Landscape, plus regional and local resources shared how they support Veteran entrepreneurs. The dynamic networking time allowed current and future Veteran business owners the chance to interact with peers and resources. We're excited to host a follow-up Summit in July 2024. Stay tuned for more details.
