🥳🛍️ Happy Independent Retailer Month, a time to celebrate small businesses across America that create jobs and make communities vibrant! One example is Ida Red General Store, a retail shop that sells gifts, treats, and Oklahoma-themed goods. Angelene Ripley Wright helped create the concept for the first store in 2008 before buying the business in 2016. Ida Red now has three locations and several employees in the Tulsa area. Angelene purchased the business with an SBA-backed loan. When the pandemic hit, the business pivoted and recovered with help from SBA relief funding. The business gives back to the community, supporting numerous local charities by providing proceeds to the Tulsa Area COVID-19 Response Fund, the Red Dirt Relief Fund, and more. Angelene is the Oklahoma Small Business Person of the Year! #IndieRetail #WomenInBusiness
