Right here in SBA Great Lakes Region and SBA Columbus District Office area is army veteran and small business owner Ericka Adams who used SBA and resources to help her dental business! #womanowned #BlackOwned #smallbusiness #Ohio #GreatLakessmallbiz #veteran
Army veteran Ericka Adams is making a difference! She opened Adams Dental Assisting Academy in Gahanna, Ohio after more than 30 years in the dental field. By equipping the academy with new technology, Ericka provides students a realistic and immersive learning environment. Ericka recognized the financial gaps in the community, lowered tuition, and partnered with The Ohio Department of Education to participate in the Second Chance Grant Program. The program covers a portion of tuition costs for students who started training elsewhere but did not finish. To grow the business, Ericka used counseling and capital resources available at SBA microlender ECDI - Economic and Community Development Institute. She gives back, volunteering at a local retirement community and supporting charities. Ericka is the Ohio Small Business Person of the Year!
