As we welcome the summer season, we recently celebrated with a company-wide picnic on our East Hanover campus. It was a colorful day filled with activities, good food, and connections. Besides being a great way to connect with our colleagues, the picnic also served as a gentle reminder of the value of taking a break. As we step into the break we want to reassure our team members about the importance of relaxing, rejuvenating, and taking time to enjoy life outside of work. As we advocate for health in every capacity, we encourage our team members to make use of their summer break to recharge and spend quality time with family and friends. Rest is critical to continue our shared mission of improving and extending people's lives. #ReimaginingMedicine #Summer

This year marked Novartis' 5th annual Day of Reflection, themed "Health Equity: Compassion, Purpose & Advocacy into Action.” In line with our commitment to improving patients' lives, we heard from people representing many community voices and explored patient population issues in partnership with BlackDoctor.org, emphasizing holistic healthcare for all. Our associates engaged with a diverse range of expert healthcare advocates including our keynote speaker, Stephen Trzeciak, MD, a practicing specialist, clinical researcher, and author of “Compassionomics,” Novartis leaders and patients who are using their experiences to advocate for change. These important conversations lead to ways that we apply our learnings in the work we do each day. It is so incredibly important to continue to amplify the voices of all communities in our journey to reimagine medicine. Multiple sclerosis (MS) affects nearly 3 million people worldwide and 1 million here in the U.S. This past week our team attended the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) Annual Meeting, where we collaborated with patient advocacy groups, including MS Views and News and Can Do MS, to facilitate important MS education programs to assist people living with MS and their care partners. We’d like to extend our thanks to all of the patient organizations for their engagement and tireless dedication to the MS community. We remain committed to our trusted partnerships, and to understanding and solving some of the most burdensome neurological conditions to improve the quality of life for patients and their caregivers. #CMSC2024

Our big takeaway from #ASCO24 – we are part of a collective effort to transform cancer care. What will future treatment for cancer look like? As we #Reimaginemedicine together with advocacy groups and healthcare professionals, we believe in the promise of #Radioligandtherapy (RLT) and are exploring ways that collaboration can bring innovation to all aspects of RLT for patients worldwide. https://lnkd.in/gSZnfTqJ

When communities collaborate, that’s when patients win. Bringing together experts at the Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (#CML) Patient Advocate and Medical Expert Leadership Summit at #ASCO2024 sparked a journey to #reimaginemedicine together for patients living with this #bloodcancer. Thank you to our participants for joining us and embracing this time together to address gaps and support CML patients.

Novartis remains committed to promoting health equity and patient-centered care. An example of this is the More Than Just Words initiative, focused on encouraging more productive, empathetic, and unbiased conversations about breast cancer risk, diagnosis and care among health care providers and patients to help improve breast cancer outcomes for Black women. We are bringing this to life with a virtual reality experience that puts us in the shoes of Black women along the breast cancer continuum of care. The VR tool features different scenarios that are based on real-life patient experiences, helping users identify unconscious bias and opportunities for more empathetic care for these patients. Join us at #ASCO2024 to learn more about our efforts in breast cancer health equity. Novartis Oncology

What does the promise of next-generation cancer treatment look like? With #Radioligandtherapy (RLT), it could be a redefined standard of care for people living with advanced cancers. Along with health care professionals, we are investigating RLTs in various tumor types and hope to expand the promise of this next pillar in cancer care to more patients in need.
