Continuing the connection with Leadership Kenosha graduates.

About us

Launched in September, 1998 with the first cohort graduating in May, 1999, the program was created out of the need to develop emerging leaders in Kenosha County. The Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce, led by Patrick Guard, formed a community steering committee to develop a “hands-on” program that built leadership skills while educating participants about the community and its assets. Designed to foster community stewardship, Leadership Kenosha graduates have gone on to serve in leadership positions in many community institutions and businesses including Gateway Technical College, Carthage College, Kenosha County Board of Supervisors, Kenosha Unified School District, Kenosha Literacy Council, Aurora Medical Center, Ocean Spray, and Kenosha News, among many others. Alumni also serve in visible leadership roles on boards of regional nonprofit organizations, such as CUSH and Kiwanis. Since its inception, Leadership Kenosha has consisted of three core components: development of leadership skills, enhancement of awareness of the community and participation in small group projects that benefit community organizations. Over the first 25 years, over 360 individuals have graduated from Leadership Kenosha. As we look forward to the future, the current Leadership Kenosha grads will be making their mark on the community and give back as mentors for the upcoming participants. The impact of the program will continue to grow.
