About us

The Kenosha Area Business Alliance (KABA) is Kenosha County’s economic development organization and employers association. KABA provides a range of economic development and business services to its nearly 400 member investors and to prospective members as well. KABA manages a portfolio of economic development revolving loan funds that are used to provide low-interest loans to new and expanding businesses to support job creation. Additionally, KABA serves as a clearing house for site selection and economic information. KABA also delivers a number of training programs designed to upgrade the skills of area workers.

  • An $885K Transportation Economic Assistance (TEA) grant is coming to Village of Pleasant Prairie to support the construction of a rail spur and additional railroad track to enable packaging company WestRock to open a new manufacturing facility & create 177 jobs. The new rail spur will connect WestRock’s recently acquired 190-acre industrial facility, located near the intersection of County Highway H and 95th Street, to the Union Pacific Railroad mainline. The rail connection will allow the company to transport its raw materials, mainly oversized paper rolls, more efficiently while being environmentally responsible. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, in collaboration with its partners, is offering the Wisconsin Automation Implementation Grant to help lower the risk of automation technology implementations by providing expertise and offsetting some of the costs. The two-step process enables manufacturers to select the most appropriate technology, plan effective implementation, and receive financial support for acquiring that technology.   • Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman presented her annual State of the County address to the County Board last month, highlighting recent successes while unveiling a new county logo. “The State of Kenosha County is strong — and it’s looking better all the time,” Kerkman said, referencing a rebranding process more than a year in the making. The new logo, Kenosha County’s first since 1982, moves the county’s brand into the 21st century, Kerkman said. “The new logo was designed to embody the essence of Kenosha County — a mix of new and old, honoring our past while looking toward the future,” Kerkman said.
