Providing non-medical, financial assistance to adults undergoing cancer treatment in Florida

About us

A cancer diagnosis can change everything. For some, it may mean the added stress of financial hardship. The Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation provides financial support to qualified adult cancer patients in the state of Florida for expenses such as rent or mortgage, car payments and car insurance, and utility bills. By giving patients peace of mind in knowing that their bills are being paid while they are undergoing treatment, the FCS Foundation allows them to concentrate on what really matters – fighting cancer. Due to the generosity of the Florida Cancer Specialists physicians in covering all overhead expenses for the Foundation, 100% of donations received go directly towards paying the essential non-medical living expenses of an adult battling cancer.

  • Cancer is one of the most difficult journeys a person can face, and financial worries should not add to the burden. George, a Volusia County grant recipient, shares, "Due to my cancer diagnosis, I am unable to work. Having limited income, every penny helps. This gift from the FCS Foundation has allowed me to pay my homeowners insurance. Without it, I wouldn't have been able to have insurance coverage on my home - living in Florida, we all know how important that is." Your gift can provide crucial support for patients like George. • “What compelled me to start volunteering at the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation was my own experience with family members who were diagnosed with cancer. I never got the chance to accompany them to their treatments and volunteering felt like a way to give back and support others who are going through their own treatments. I love the interactions I have with the patients and the learning experiences I’ve acquired from the lovely staff of nurses and the rest of the healthcare team. It’s affirmed my love of medicine and has aided me into my future endeavors.” Lauren Llerena, Patient Support Volunteer at Winter Park Village Clinic If you would like to volunteer as Lauren does and help cancer patients at a FCS clinic, please go to FCSF.org for details and to apply.
