Your Carriers Are Vying for Personal Ground - The Personal RoundUp

Verizon plays a more personal role in our daily lives than we think. Their new campaign, “Humanabilty,” calls attention to Verizon’s innovative services across industries. “Our storytelling around the network and ‘Humanability’ allow us to create different layers of meaning for the brand across different audiences,” CMO Diego Scotti says. A series of short films give consumers a sense of the breadth of Verizon’s business and a chance to get personal with the brand. From healthcare to food safety, Verizon technology connects audiences and transforms industries every day.

T-Mobile is giving people the opportunity to give back all December long. For #GivingTuesday, T-Mobile set aside $2 million to be donated to a variety of charities chosen by their consumers. Employees, too, were personally included in the desire to give back this season. They were given an extra $28 that could be donated to any charity of their personal choice. Beyond this annual day of giving, the carrier encourages people to donate old tablets and phones. T-Mobile will match the value of donated items and give the money to Feeding America and Team Rubicon.

AT&T shows a more personal side this holiday season. They’ve partnered with True Colors to raise awareness of LGBTQ youth homelessness through the Home for the Holidays Concert. Cyndi Lauper, co-founder of the True Colors Fund, aims to develop a new generation of leaders and invest in young LGBTQ identifying people who are 6 times more likely to experience homelessness. AT&T and True Colors have joined up to create a personal video that can be shared to build a community around the cause. The video showcases LGBTQ youth whom directly benefit from the fund through experiences like grant writing classes, and lessons on personal advocacy.
