Running for a good cause

I'm a fun runner (a contradiction in terms to rival military intelligence!)

Later this year I tackle my third half marathon. And I'm using it to support the excellent Berry Street Victoria.

Last year 1 in 37 children needed child protection services, which means the demands for these services is growing. Berry Street is the largest independent child and family welfare organisation in Victoria. Last year they helped over 18,000 children and family members.

Help children like Kate*, who at age 8 is recovering from violence and neglect. Now safe living with a foster family, Kate has the guidance, compassion and encouragement she needs to heal from her trauma. With the support of Berry Street’s highly skilled workers together with assistance from donors, children like Kate now have a chance to have a good childhood.

This year I'm helping to raise $50,000 for children like Kate in foster care. This helps to fund ‘Welcome to Care’ kits for all children joining a family in foster care. Each kit costs around $60, and provides kids with new items like pyjamas, toiletries, clothing and toys - help them to reach this goal!
