Who Is Kim Pham?

Raised in a family where food was not just sustenance but a love language, Kim's passion for storytelling through flavors was ignited at an early age. The daughter of Vietnamese immigrants, Kim grew up in the south of Boston and battled feelings of shame and "otherness" in her predominantly white neighborhood, and these feelings were only further ignited when she went into the grocery store and walked down the “ethnic” aisle. Throughout her childhood, Kim did her best to downplay her love of Vietnamese food, but when she went off to NYU, she realized how much she missed her mom's cooking and the nuances of Vietnamese culture. This was the beginning of Kim reclaiming her Vietnamese identity. 

After college Kim worked at various startups and later on in venture capital, but her entrepreneurial spirit and desire to celebrate the rich tapestry of Asian flavors led her to quit her job to start a company with her sister better known as Omsom.

The Vibrant Brand of Omsom:

In 2019, Kim Pham co-founded Omsom with her sister Vanessa to revolutionize the way we cook & bringing Asian flavors to the forefront of home cooking. The name "Omsom" originates from the Vietnamese phrase "om sòm," which translates to "rowdy" or "boisterous," perfectly encapsulating the brand's vibrant and adventurous spirit. Omsom has continuously made headlines for its bold branding and delicious flavors. At the heart of Omsom's culinary innovation lies their groundbreaking product—the recipe starters. These thoughtfully curated kits contain all the essential ingredients needed to create authentic Asian dishes with ease. From Thai Larb to Korean Spicy Bulgogi, each recipe starter is a homage to the rich culinary traditions of its respective culture.
