NVIDIA GTC: Streaming XR Highlights with Our Partners
The four NVIDIA spatial/XR pillars photorealism, AI, collaboration, and streaming

NVIDIA GTC: Streaming XR Highlights with Our Partners

NVIDIA CloudXR is the streaming solution that provides the extended reality (XR) ecosystem the opportunity to stream their photoreal experiences anywhere, anytime. With CloudXR, developers are able to deliver their high-fidelity immersive OpenVR applications to any XR device.

CloudXR partners are using this technology to enable their customers to stream photoreal, enterprise applications. In this interview, we hear from NVIDIA CloudXR partners Hololight , Innoactive , and PureWeb about how CloudXR is integrated into their platform, and learn about their product showcase at GTC. Florian Haspinger , CEO, Hololight; Daniel Seidl , CEO Innoactive; and Chris Jarabek , VP of Product Development, PureWeb each added their own insights into how CloudXR is impacting their software development.

Q: Explain a little more about who you are and what you do?

  • Hololight, Haspinger: Hololight's mission is to revolutionize the way enterprises engage with 3D content in the new era of spatial computing. We provide an XR application management platform known as Hololight Hub, that enables enterprises to manage and deploy AR and VR applications at scale.
  • Innoactive, Seidl: Our customers are using XR for complex topics around the globe. To solve these complex problems, we built Innoactive Portal, which can stream PC-based virtual reality (VR) content directly to more flexible standalone headsets. Innoactive Portal serves as a content management system (CMS) for XR users.
  • PureWeb, Jarabek: PureWeb is a platform that eliminates all of the complexities of orchestrating cloud and edge infrastructure at scale for remote streaming experiences. Our goal is to make it as simple as ‘drag-and-drop’ to deploy a CloudXR streaming application on our platform.

  • Q:How has streaming with NVIDIA CloudXR enabled you to maximize your application?

  • Hololight: XR streaming is an integral part of Hololight's overall strategy, while Hololight Hub has become the gateway to XR applications, infrastructure, and other services. XR applications running on Hololight Hub require integration with Hololight's proprietary Hololight Stream SDK. We will expand opportunities for application developers to add their VR applications developed with NVIDIA CloudXR to Hololight Hub. Customers can run XR applications on-premises or in the cloud and stream securely from powerful servers to a variety of AR and VR devices.
  • Innoactive: Streaming has changed everything by offering flexibility to customers. Now they can utilize their XR content anywhere in the world with just a headset, no need for a powerful PC. It has become an important tool as companies use the cloud more in their operations. Additional benefits also arise which help this further. For example,  when streaming the file, it is never fully downloaded to a local device, therefore offering a level of security that didn't exist previously.
  • PureWeb: In the next few weeks, CloudXR support on PureWeb is going to move from being a prototype, to being a first-class integral component of our offering.  The decision was made based on the groundswell of interest in XR use cases in large enterprises, while simultaneously seeing that the infrastructure orchestration problem for XR use cases was as acute as it was for our browser-streaming customers.

Q: What are some of the standout features of CloudXR 4.0 that have proven most valuable for your XR development?

  • Hololight: The most valuable feature of CloudXR 4.0 for our XR development was the ability to build our own client and seamlessly integrate it into our platform. Previously, our integration and customization options were limited.
  • Innoactive: With CloudXR 4.0, Innoactive is able to adapt and optimize for different networks, such as the support for L4S which can improve on achieving low latency, low loss, and scalable throughput. With CloudXR 4.0, it will be easier for Innoactive to manage the quality of service that is offered to customers
  • PureWeb: The migration to the CloudXR Unity Client Plugin has been huge for PureWeb, as it means we can have a unified client experience for CloudXR streams running on our platform.

Q: What are you most excited to share and demo at GTC 2024?

  • Hololight: We look forward to demonstrating the compatibility of NVIDIA and Hololight's XR streaming solutions, which will bring added value to ISVs and enterprises. The easy-to-use connection between Hololight’s ecosystem and NVIDIA Omniverse will be a major highlight of the show.
  • Innoactive: Join our session to hear how our customers are using Unreal Engine for high-quality, PC-based VR such as real-time simulation and visualization. We're addressing the challenge that to run these experiences, they'd need a high-powered VR-capable PC. We're making it easier for Unreal developers to create, upload and stream their builds even when they don't have a VR-powered PC. To achieve this, we'll be showcasing our Unreal Engine plugin that lets them do this directly from the Unreal Engine.

  • PureWeb: We’re extremely excited to show off our CloudXR 4.0 streaming integration on our platform.  Moving this work from a prototype state where we were validating it with prospective customers, to having it as a fully fledged part of our product, will be a big and exciting announcement for us at GTC.

Greg Jones Here's our story. We once asked ChatGPT, an icon of AI, the following question and it's answer was: "Yes, but with low probability." This is a paradox and dangerous feature in data analytics for decision making support. "Will AI replace and terminate the University of Cambridge?" Do you or any of your contacts need my expertise and my IP? We're selling, NOT talking. Thanks. Here is our pitch deck: "With our intellectual property (IP), a copyrighted multilingual metadata, we can do what ChatGPT, an icon of AI, can't do in data analytics. Without metadata, NO data can be found/retrieved, even by the most advanced technologies, like AI, supercomputers, etc. https://lnkd.in/g-aJFnXR Our IP can also make your information service UNIQUE in the world" P.S. We wrote this statement myself, without using any AI tool.
