In the face of COVID, Deere Global IT colleagues demonstrate amazing resiliency to support our customers

I grew up in the bustling metropolis of Mumbai and still have family living in India. Sadly, COVID has changed all aspects of life in my homeland and deeply impacted many other parts of the world.

I often think of my Deere Global IT colleagues and their families, especially in these hard-hit areas, as they juggle work productivity with managing personal health and safety priorities. For example, in India, multiple generations of a family often live together in the same house. Working remotely, in such close proximity, adds stress compounded further by worries of COVID. Other team members around the globe have experienced disruptions to childcare or senior care and some lack access to appropriate physical and mental health care. In the face of such daily challenges, I’m amazed by the resiliency my fellow Deere colleagues have shown throughout this pandemic crisis.

Our global IT team members, in close collaboration with partners in the rest of the business, have continued to design innovative digital solutions at an incredible pace. These solutions allow our customers to evaluate, purchase, finance, and even diagnose our equipment virtually. Such capabilities allow us to keep everyone’s safety as the top priority while enabling our customers to continue working hard to feed and shelter the world’s growing population.

Over the past year, my confidence has continued to grow in our ability to quickly deliver customers digital solutions that add value to their operations. I am more optimistic that medical therapies and safety prevention methods will help us win the battle against the virus globally. I look forward to seeing more of my colleagues in the U.S. offices soon so that we can safely connect and collaborate even better to deliver greater and faster digital innovations that delight our customers and other stakeholders.

I am very thankful for Deere’s philanthropic efforts during the pandemic, including the recent commitment to assist India in the fight against COVID. I am proud to be a part of the team working with our dedicated customers to help the World Leap Forward.
