Celebrating 2 years of NomadX! These 2 years were focused on growing the community, creating events, talking in conferences all over the world, building experiences and so much more. 2024 will be a big year for us. We plan to create a whole new nomad economy as for the most part digital nomads and remote workers looking to join communities still struggle to find basic accommodation, working spaces and communities. Madeira is today the most successful government project in the world, the lessons we are learning are key to develop sustainable communities around the world inspired and led by the example and successful strategy of Madeira. We need more: -Coliving spaces - Serviced apartments - Community leadership - Social hubs and working spaces - Easy accessible services and information about the best communities We will build and share with our community a little of everything in this new era of living and working. Waterfall-accented Krka National Park has launched several initiatives to attract #digitalnomads to Šibenik-Knin County. Remote workers can become a member of Trokut Šibenik’s co-working space, participate in free, park-related educational programs and access the newly built Krka #EcoCampus in Puljane. According to its 2021 census, fewer than 100,000 locals now live in Šibenik – Knin County – a stark contrast to the one million tourists that visited Krka National Park in 2022. 60% of the area’s population is older than 50 years in age." Rural territories are experiencing the agony of a lack of population. Young people go to the cities to train themselves and develop their first professional projects. And these territories need people capable of creating opportunities for themselves and local communities. In 1918, the recently graduated engineer Pierre-Georges Latécoère founded the company Aéropostale in Toulouse, creating in a peripheral territory the most important aerospace center in Europe today. For the same objective as 100 years ago, we need to use new tools. The Iberian Peninsula is a beneficiary of initiatives that promote new and promising development models. Fernando E. de Pina Mendes, promoter of coworking spaces in Portugal, and Joaquín Alcalde Sánchez in Spain have developed projects that deserve to be known and visited. There is still no formula to resolve depopulation, but we are much closer to achieving it, 20 years after the Novos Povoadores movement and Fundación Abraza La Tierra began this journey.
