Goodbye 2023 – goodbye Axel Springer!
On my own behalf. 😊
After more than ten years at Axel Springer, I have decided to open a new chapter. My two-year secondment as Head of Office in Brussels ends at the end of the year – a good opportunity to set off for new shores.
Since 2010, I have been part of the digital transformation in Germany and abroad, from BILD & Welt to "Electronic Media" and most recently Public Affairs. The company has developed rapidly since then, so it never got boring. And I am very grateful for the numerous experiences and, in particular, the trust placed in me!
To pick out just five examples:
🌟 Project Premium Content: My debut at Axel Springer in 2010. A Group-wide strategy project that is still a perennial issue today: How can you convince users to pay for something that was previously free? There was probably no better way to get to know the Group in a very short time. Andreas Wiele, Florian Klages, Christian Fuhrhop... #PremiumContent
🌟CDP: The commitment to an efficient #platformeconomy and improved data sharing within and outside the Group. Rarely have I learned so much about Germany and Europe as a digital location as I did during this time, both for the good and for what could be improved. Michael Wolter, Tom Halank, Michael Reiner, Carlos Bracho, Regina Hüf and many more.
🌟"BILD for all": The only "real analog" project I took part in as support and which I can still remember well. Every German household was supposed to receive a newspaper. It worked despite all the adversities – and most recipients (who hadn't objected) were happy too 😉 Ralf Hermanns
🌟 The acquisition of (then still) N24, now Welt TV: countless night shifts and at least as many pizzas with Christoph Falke in a dark office wing analyzing broadcasting schedules, reach and commercials. #mergersacquisitions
🌟 Last but not least: the joint fight for a fair #digitaleconomy, which has been with me for many years now and I am deeply convinced of its importance for society as a whole. From the DSA and DMA to the GWB, ePrivacy, the AI Act, the MedienStV and EMFA. Dr. Dietrich von Klaeden, Florian Nehm, Karolina Sznajder, Benedicta von Rauch, Franziska Fislage, Fabian Griewel, Damian Flisak, Daniela Rau-Kahnt and Angie Scheunemann and all other supporters, whether inside Axel Springer – such as Robert Blanck, Ansgar Schoenborn, Dr. Susanne Stollhoff, Albrecht von Sonntag, Christopher Reher, Julia Kühne, Sabine Schmidt… – or outside (way too many to list here).
After such a long time in the Group, I have certainly forgotten many people who are important to me. I would therefore also like to thank my other colleagues and contacts for the great cooperation! It was always a lot of fun - let's stay in touch!
Before I continue, I would like to dedicate some time to my family, which has been a bit neglected recently. And now enjoy the end of the year.
With this in mind: „Einen guten Rutsch“ to everyone and to a happy 2024! 🚀🎈💫
