“We are currently seeing food rations decreasing due to funding cuts - these are exacerbating the horrendous effects of child hunger and malnutrition." - Andrea Polo Galante, World Vision Senior Advisor on Food Security and Nutrition. 📨Our message for #G7 leaders is that while we welcome their intentions to overcome structural barriers to food security and nutrition, their promises need to be backed by funding.

True #foodsecurity goes beyond mere sustenance. It encompasses a comprehensive approach towards availability, accessibility, affordability, nutrition, choice, and quality of food. To achieve food security, we need to address systemic issues, advocate for equity, and create an environment where every individual can thrive without the fear of hunger or malnutrition. Food security in Africa is a long shot, but it is not impossible!

The latest SOFI report has just been released, and its findings are deeply concerning. Despite our shared vision of achieving a hunger-free world by 2030, the next 15 years pose a daunting challenge, as the results indicate a contrary reality. Shockingly, the report projects that over 600 million people, with a significant number being children, will suffer from malnutrition by 2030. Alarmingly, approximately 2.4 billion individuals, still lack consistent access to food. Among them, a staggering 900 million people face severe food insecurity. It is crucial for policymakers, donors, governments, and key stakeholders to place food security and fighting malnutrition at the forefront of their priorities. #FoodSecurity #GlobalHunger https://lnkd.in/d6jrjxXQ

More than 13 million children in the U.S. were living in food-insecure households in 2022, according to the latest USDA data. This is a 44% increase over the previous year. We need Congress to pass a strong #farmbill that strengthens nutrition programs, especially: 🔹TEFAP, which moves healthy food from farms to food banks, and 🔹SNAP, which helps families facing hunger have greater purchasing power at their local grocery store. helpingfeedpeople.org Feeding America

The number of food-insecure households in the U.S. increased significantly in 2022, according to the USDA. Access to healthy foods should not be a luxury. A strong #FarmBill that invests in nutrition programs, like The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), can help to support food banks and neighbors facing hunger. Tell Congress to listen to people facing hunger and pass the strongest possible Farm Bill! https://lnkd.in/e9QEadgN #FeedingtheCarolinas #FoodInsecurity #TEFAP #FightHunger
