How to spot "A Player" Senior Sales Execs. (Based on speaking to 1000's of Sales Execs in 25 years..) A Players: 1 - Rarely apply for jobs 2 - Have a great attitude 3 - Interview the interviewer 4 - Are rehired by ex-bosses 5 - Listen a lot more than talk 6 - Are often difficult to get hold of 7 - Have few (if any) bad luck stories 8 - Talk about the deals they have closed 9 - Aren't afraid of showing you their pay slips 10- Talk less about pipeline and more about deals they closed 🔥 If you find a Senior Sales Exec like this, hire them fast or someone else will! Agree?
This is very insightful Ben, thanks for sharing! A few questions for you: 1. in your experience, do A-Players stay in roles longer than B-players? 2. Related to number 1, if a sales exec has a history of staying in a role for less than 2 years, do you see it as a red flag? 3. Do candidates really have to show their pay slips where you recruit?? Thanks!
I would say, they won't apply for any job but the job that they see fit
But you may after doing the mandatory “task” stage because everything else you’ve achieved is irrelevant until you do this 😤
Agree and I also find can talk deeply about what their current customers want to achieve as opposed to what they are selling
9 - Aren't afraid of showing you their pay slips IRS Disguising as recruiters incoming in 5...4...3...2... :D
Not even in the industry yet and I feel that that’s me!
Hi. I am not in Sales but most of the points do make sense. I don’t understand point 9 very well though. Is it possible to further explain it?
