To address the excess of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, we will need successful, safe, scalable, cost-effective ocean carbon removal. As Ocean Visions recently wrote, "As we confront this reality, our focus needs to be on the biggest opportunities to reach scale, and the ocean must be on the list. Why?
