Happy Independence Day! Today marks 248 years since the Declaration of Independence was signed and a spirit of freedom filled our country. While this historic and patriotic day is filled with fun celebration, take the time to reflect on those who have made our freedom possible. We cannot thank our troops and veterans enough for their service and sacrifices.

Whether you’re celebrating the 4th of July tomorrow with friends and family or out on the road, we encourage you to stay safe and smart. The roads will be busier than normal as many will travel to enjoy the day, so keep these tips in mind: • Allow extra time to get where you're going. • Be aware of increased law enforcement presence on the roads. • Be mindful of your speed, following distance, and changing weather conditions. • Make adjustments to create extra space between you and other vehicles. • Be on the lookout for distracted drivers.

As summer storms begin to brew, safety remains a top priority. It is important to stay informed and prepared for when intense storms strike. Creating a safety plan, preparing an emergency kit, and having a designated safe shelter are just a few of the ways you can promote safety for yourself and loved ones.
