The Salesforce ecosystem is showing no signs of slowing down! This year's attendance at Dreamforce was up by approximately 50% compared to last year. Good signs for the San Francisco tech industry which has been struggling losing people/companies to other cities. I just got back to New York and have time to fully reflect on the event after 3 weeks on the road. Marc Benioff (pictured) interviewed Sam Altman about everything AI. Maybe just a coincidence, but Salesforce's recent slowdown in M&A went full reverse last week when they announced their acquisition of Airkit.ai for https://lnkd.in/e-3wU4WA The FE International, Inc. team hosted an exclusive lunch for founders worth multiple billions of dollars combined interested in M&A on both sides of the table - great turnout, with lots of lessons shared. We've seen a big increase in interest from private equity firms, public companies and strategic acquirers business built around Salesforce - I'd expect more high profile deals to get announced over the next 12 months by us and others operating in the space. The Salesforce team themselves are very welcoming and know how to host a great event. From Simon Bristow with the inside track on who to meet and what to know, to Steve Dennahy who seemingly knew nearly every attendee and partner - there was not a minute to spare throughout. Got an invite to an event hosted by Acxiom UK thanks to Neil Plant - if you're looking to get started with a Salesforce implementation, check them out. One of their recent clients Heathrow was there, too. As someone who flies 300,000 miles a year, always interesting to hear how airports are leveraging data to grow revenue (whether you use Salesforce or something else, you *must* capture and track customer/user data to grow your business). Thanks to all the Salesforce team to hosting and the FE team will be back next year (after some rest!)

Love this initiative from Salesforce. If you have kids, they will see you walk out the door in the morning (or perhaps you will already be gone) and they wont see you until later in the day. Apparently you have been at a strange place called "work". Perhaps this happens less so nowadays for some of us - due to hybrid working - but even so - "work" can be a bit of a mystery. Personally I'd love to see the kids in some of our governance sessions. Take them in and show them around, get them to sit on a meeting or two. Kids have a way of creatively seeing through the usual business bull, and perhaps we would all behave a bit better as a result. #workplace #facilitiesmanagement #office

The most successful SasS companies feel less like they're selling a product and more like they're evangelizing a movement. Think Zuora's "subscription economy," Gong's "Goodbye opinions, Hello reality" or the OG, Salesforce's "End of Software." The beating heart of these companies' go-to-market identity is what I call a strategic narrative — a simple story about a shift in the world from an old mindset to a new one that conveys life and death stakes for buyers. Did you know SalesForce CEO Marc Benioff is a thief? and you should steal it too... To be fair, he legally borrowed M.C. Hammer's genius marketing angle which led to SalesForce's massive success. Benioff got the idea to go city to city & build hype for their software using street teams just like he saw Hammer Time doing it with his music in the Bay area.
