#ChildTrafficking is one of the WORST forms of violence against children, affecting an alarming number of children worldwide. Global estimates show that children account for 35% of all identified victims of trafficking. Despite all the work that has been undertaken over the last two decades, trafficking in children continues to be a high-profit, low-risk crime, based upon the principles of supply and demand. Children are treated like commodities that are bought, sold, traded and used over and over again. Trafficking in children generates an alarming 39 billion USD to child Predators and Pedophiles in revenue annually at the expense of millions of innocents. Human trafficking is a modern form of slavery. Child trafficking is a heinous crime. THIS NEEDS TO STOP! UN SRSG on Violence against Children joins ICAT in calling on Governments to reach every victim of trafficking, leaving no one behind. Globally, children are TWICE as likely to face violence during trafficking than adults (Source: Global Report on Trafficking in Persons). Root causes include poverty, inadequate support of unaccompanied children amidst rising migration, armed conflicts, and lack of parental care. At LCHT, we train teachers, law enforcement, and professionals who work with youth to identify the signs of human trafficking and safely intervene. ✋ Get your team trained: https://lnkd.in/edXCEK9e #EndTraffickingColorado #EliminateExploitation #EndHumanTrafficking #HumanRights #HumanTraffickingAwareness #ColoradoNonprofit #Youth #ChildTrafficking #AntiTraffickingTraining

⚠️20% of all trafficking victims worldwide are children. Trafficking is a form of violence and an enabler of many other forms of violence, exploitation and abuse. Ending human trafficking is essential in achieving multiple Sustainable Development Goals targets, especially 16.2: ending all forms of violence against children. The World Day Against Trafficking in Persons is observed annually on July 30 to raise awareness about human trafficking and to promote and protect the rights of trafficking victims. The formal definition of human trafficking used worldwide was established by the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially Women and Children, a United Nations Convention adopted in 2003. The Protocol specifies three primary elements of trafficking in persons: the act, the means, and the purpose. What is done, how it’s done and why it’s done. Traffickers deceive, coerce, threaten, abuse power and use force — the means and methods — to recruit, move, receive, shelter and maintain control of their victims, for the express purpose of exploiting them. Exploitation includes, but is not limited to, the prostitution of others for sex, forced labor or services, slavery or similar practices, servitude, or the removal of organs. Sadly, human trafficking is a global crisis. Trafficking in persons affects nearly every country in the world; no country is immune. The victims of trafficking are building our homes, cleaning our houses, processing our food and making our clothes. They are in our lives. #ProjectMapleLeaf #CourageForFreedom #EradicateChallenge #Preventionbeforeintervention #StopHumanTrafficking #HumanRights #ChildRights #AddYourVoice #NotForSale #FightHumanTrafficking #ChildLivesMatter #SocialJustice #RiseUpForChildren #AntiHumanTrafficking #EndHumanTrafficking #protectchildren #womensrights #ProjectINterclusion #ProjectONtario #knowhumantrafficking #humantrafficking #humantraffickingawareness #antitrafficking #antisextrafficking #endchildtrafficking #fighthumantrafficking #jointhefight #childtrafficking #sextrafficking #listentosurvivors #modernslavery #stopmodernslavery #protectchildren #bethechange #wellactually #Canada #humanrights #addyourvoice #notforsale #knowthefacts

Today marks #internationaldayforabolitionofslavery - almost 50 million people are trapped in modern day slavery across the world. We have been busy delivering workshops to children and young people about exploitation and trafficking. We wanted to see what they already knew about the topic including their knowledge on sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation, child labour, domestic servitude and organ harvesting. We were able to discuss the different types of exploitation, the signs and indicators and the impact of exploitation. We also looked into the stages that can lead a child to being targeted for exploitation and the power and control tactics that adults may implement when they want to control, abuse and exploit a child. Child trafficking and exploitation remains to be a significant problem in Kenya with thousands of children at risk each year. We have been honoured to be carrying out some work with @alwalidayncentre who rescues and protects many children who have been victims of child trafficking. Through education we can raise awareness and work towards preventing trafficking and exploitation and increase the safety of children and young people. #kenya #childtrafficking #humantrafficking #humantraffickingawareness #childtraffickingmuststop #exploitation #childexploitationawareness #education #educationforall #childrenseducation #workshop #community #communityeducation #youthengagement #communityengagement #awareness #awarenessraising #ngo #rescue #rescuemission #rescuecenter

We can all make a difference in the fight against child trafficking. By raising awareness, supporting organizations that are working to combat this crime, and speaking out against child trafficking, we can help put an end to this crime against children. Child trafficking is a form of human trafficking that involves the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring, or receipt of children for the purpose of exploitation. Exploitation can take many forms, including: 1. Commercial sexual exploitation, such as forced prostitution or pornography 2. Forced labor, such as in agriculture, construction, or manufacturing 3. Domestic servitude, such as forced labor in a private home 4. Organ harvesting 5. Beggar slavery Child trafficking is a serious crime that can have devastating consequences for victims. Victims are often subjected to physical and psychological abuse, and they may be forced to work long hours in dangerous conditions. They may also be denied food, water, and medical care. The United Nations estimates that there are 25 million children trapped in forced labor worldwide. Of these, 4.8 million are victims of forced sexual exploitation and 15.4 million are victims of forced labor. Child trafficking is a complex issue with no easy solutions. However, there are a number of things that can be done to combat it, such as: 1. Raising awareness of the issue 2. Enacting and enforcing laws against child trafficking 3. Providing support to victims of child trafficking 4. Working to address the root causes of child trafficking, such as poverty and inequality If you suspect that a child is being trafficked, you can report it to the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888. You can also report it to the police or to your local child protective services agency. #childtrafficking #awareness #speaknow

It takes a village to train a child‼️ Simply put, child protection as defined by the UNICEF refers to 👇🏾 “Preventing and responding to violence, exploitation and abuse against children – including commercial sexual exploitation, trafficking, child labour and harmful traditional practices, such as female genital mutilation/cutting and child marriage.” These rights and protections are embedded in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. 👧🏾 UNICEF plays an important role in safeguarding the rights and interests of children all around the world. This body has come up with solid solutions and strategies to address the issues faced by children. 🙌🏾 This is a reminder to not wait for NGOs or the Government to protect children. Every individual has a duty to ensure that children are protected and taken care of. After all, it takes a village to bring up a child. ☺️ #childprotection #childadvocacy #linkedinforcreators

Reflecting on the challenges our children face in 2024 is a stark reminder of societal shortcomings. The recent loss of an innocent child, brimming with potential, is not an isolated incident but sadly representative of a widespread issue. Child sexual abuse is alarmingly prevalent in Zimbabwe, with a substantial underreporting dilemma. The disclosed cases merely scratch the surface, as children already constitute 57% of reported sexual violence incidents nationally. It's imperative for us all to unite against this menace by fostering awareness about child rights, educating both adults and children, and tackling the systemic issues perpetuating child abuse, including poverty and the erosion of formal and indigenous child protection systems. Let's collectively strive for a safer future for our children. #ChildProtection #EndChildAbuse

🚨 In numerous distressing cases of online child exploitation, especially those involving our youngest and most vulnerable—infants and toddlers—the perpetrators can shockingly be parents or other family members. They may directly exploit the child, facilitate the abuse, or be complicit in it. This betrayal of trust within a family is profound. 🌍 In developing countries, this issue is often exacerbated by severe economic circumstances. Poverty may compel parents or guardians to participate in or enable the sexual exploitation of their own children online, causing significant harm. 📢 Addressing these root causes is crucial. Our efforts to combat online child exploitation must include educational programs to raise awareness and drive home the severity of the impact on children. 🤝 Join us in advocating for global standards and aligned legislation to protect all children from exploitation online. #ProtectOurChildren #EndChildExploitation #Awareness #EndChildExploit #SafeWebKids #FightCSAM #ChildSafetyOnline #ProtectKidsOnline #StopOnlineAbuse #ChildRightsAdvocate #DigitalSafetyForKids #WebSafeYouth #GuardOurChildren
