Speaks about Gen Z recruitment, retention & engagement | Supports swamped senior leaders in education and local government so they can thrive at work and beyond
People don't like their public sector senior leaders to be comfortable. They don't like you having expenses They don't like you being paid They rather you lived in a f***ing cave. You are now built and owned by this state and you're under the spotlight 24 hours a day! You know what you are? You're a f***ing human dart board. And Eric f***ing Bristow's on the oche throwing a million darts made of human s*** right at you! Malcolm Tucker, a fictional (?) character, was of course talking about politicians. But he could also be talking about a lot of my public sector senior leader clients and how they feel about their dealings with 😒 regulators 😒 the general public 😒 trustees/governors 😒 occasionally, their colleagues etc In all seriousness I am not far from the truth in terms of what clients tell me, and what they have to put up from people who should know far better. What is your Malcolm Tucker moment? #publicsector #leadership #politicians #professionaldevelopment

Driving improvements in healthcare. BScN, RN, MHS student, Director/Acting Administrator, National Manager with 30+ years of healthcare excellence in leadership, quality, risk, and infection control.
I just read an article on Adaptive Leadership [Kolb, D. (2021). Adaptive leadership: The case of Jacinda Ardern and New Zealand. Academia Letters, Article 557. https://lnkd.in/g9kymZ3R]. Of course, it chronicles how the former Prime Minister of New Zealand led her island country through the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic. What I gleaned from this, is succinctly summarized in the final paragraph: "First, trust the science, but constantly update your understanding of the facts. Second, share your understanding as well as your uncertainties with your constituents. Third, enrol others to do their part, acknowledging that it is others who make things happen. Fourth, offer hope, but not false hope. Fifth, keep the faith that things will improve, but not necessarily when others expect them to happen. And sixth, try to disappoint your followers at the rate they can deal with it. Finally, support feelings of pride in achievement, but resist making comparisons with others who are not as successful. Nobody wins until we all win." We can all use this advice in our everyday lives as leaders. #leadership #adaptability #inspirational

“The highest patriotism is not a blind acceptance of official policy, but a love of one's country deep enough to call her to a higher standard.” —George McGovern In a world filled with influential voices and charismatic leaders, it's crucial to emphasize the importance of individual discernment. Blindly following leaders without questioning their motives or the path they advocate is akin to walking towards a cliff's edge with closed eyes. It is only through critical thinking and independent analysis that one can avoid the pitfalls of blindly conforming. Remember, true strength lies in the ability to question, challenge, and make informed choices rather than following the herd over an uncertain precipice. #IndependentLeadership #ThirdPartyTrailblazers #VoteBeyondRedAndBlue #AlternativeCandidates #DissentingCandidates #NewHorizonsPolitics #IndependentThinkingVote #BeyondPartisanPolitics #ChooseOutsideTheNorm #ElectionInnovation

In small arts organisations leadership roles (eg: Artistic Director, Executive Director, CEO, General Manager, Chair) are challenging, exposed and isolated. We want to change that: https://bit.ly/3slA3C9
