The U.S. Department of Commerce’s U.S. Economic Development Administration is awarding a $500,000 grant to the Eastern Shore Entrepreneurship Center in Easton. Today, as part of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued a Notice of Intent to open a competition for new research and development activities that will establish and accelerate domestic capacity for semiconductor advanced packaging. The CHIPS for America program anticipates up to $1.6 billion in funding innovation across five R&D areas, as outlined in the vision for the National Advanced Packaging Manufacturing Program. https://lnkd.in/eN2ec9jn

The Commerce Department’s USPTO recently announced a new National Strategy for Inclusive Innovation to connect more Americans with resources to spur innovation and entrepreneurship. The Biden administration is issuing a total ban on the use of a Russian-backed cybersecurity software in the United States due to the Russian government's alleged influence operations over the software. The Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security was able to ban Kaspersky under its new authorities. https://lnkd.in/gkUN9pXE
