The key challenges? - Negative industry image - Training barriers - Unsatisfactory company culture - Difficult OTR lifestyle - Limited parking/restroom access - Gender harassment & discrimination The solutions? - Improve communication and recognition in companies - Address financial and logistical training barriers - Offer better support for work-life balance and safety The study highlights that women are drawn to trucking for its pay parity with men. 1moMany fail to remember the Civilian Contractors, providing support for the troops and coalition forces, that also paid the ultimate price. During OIF, (Operation Iraqi Freedom) KBR lost 256 drivers in Iraq to hostile acts. Over 1000 other drivers were injured in their duties. Lest we not forget them also.
