The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) has released a new study addressing why there aren't more women truck drivers and what can be done to change that. The key challenges? - Negative industry image - Training barriers - Unsatisfactory company culture - Difficult OTR lifestyle - Limited parking/restroom access - Gender harassment & discrimination The solutions? - Improve communication and recognition in companies - Address financial and logistical training barriers - Offer better support for work-life balance and safety The study highlights that women are drawn to trucking for its pay parity with men.
