📣Calling all RDs, food companies, or PR firms that work with RDs and social media influencers 📣 Are you aware that the FTC guidelines have been updated and focus on socials media? AND and you are responsible for following them? Failure to do so can result in a warning and even a hefty fine? In my latest column, I discuss the major updates in the FTC guidelines especially if you’re endorsing any products related to food and nutrition. This includes disclosing ANY material connections, including free samples, getting paid to do a product for review and reinforcing nutrition messaging as part of a campaign. It also includes clear and conspicuous disclosures— and making these disclosures FRONT AND CENTER, easily noticeable and hard to miss. The disclosure should also be delivered in the exact method(s) used to give the messages— including video, audio, text, etc You can find the full article on page 6-7 in the latest @todaysdietitian magazine Thank you Janet Helm for your input!

#sponsoredsegment Today I stopped by WPIX New York Livingto talk about foods that help support a healthy lifestyle. I partnered with the Blueberry Council who is the first-ever produce commodity to partner with Major League Pickleball , sponsoring the 2024 season as “the official fruit of the MLP” One in 5 American adults play or have tried pickleball and its popularity is growing every year! Blueberries are beloved because they’re delicious, nutritious and convenient – making them the perfect partner for a sport that inspires excitement and passion in its players and fans. Together the two promote the health benefits of blueberries and encourage the pickleball community to eat more blueberries to support an active lifestyle. One cup of blueberries, which is considered one serving of fruit, contains 80 calories and is a good source of fiber which helps you to stay full and supports overall digestive health. Three dishes that I displayed: 🫐Blueberry-Lemon Ricotta Rice Cakes 🫐Blueberry-Turmeric Smoothies 🫐Blueberry Oat Bars I also partnered with NY Beef and along with a healthy lifestyle beef’s nutrients, like iron, zinc, choline, B vitamins and high-quality protein, work to provide our bodies and minds with the fuel to be the strongest versions of ourselves. Savory beef also pairs beautifully with other healthful ingredients, such as whole grains, nuts, seeds – even fruit to power your summer adventurers. There are a variety of delicious and nutritious beef cuts to fit all budgets. For example, look for lean, affordable options such as the sirloin tip roast, top round steak, bottom round roast or ground beef to fuel your active summer. Buy beef in bulk and freeze it for a later use whenever possible too. Recipes featured include: 🥩Sirloin with Sugar Snap Pea and Pasta Salad 🍔Beef Blueberry Flax Burgers 🥩Jerky Trail Mix https://lnkd.in/e4NUgBRR

#sponsoredsegment Today I appeared on Connecticut’s Morning Buzz with host Natasha Lubczenko to discuss how to improve your health journey as summer approaches, with a focus on vitamins, supplements, and ‘better-for-you’ snacks. With a lot of people are looking to liven up their vitamin and supplement routine and they’re looking at gummies and powders. And they don’t realize many of them have added sugar. That is why today I partnered with Nature Made Zero Sugar Gummies, a new line designed to support wellness without the added sugar, available in five varieties, including multivitamins, vitamin C, D3, B12, and melatonin. I also partnered with LesserEvil Brand Snack Co. (I fell in love with their Himalayan popcorn years ago- so I was SO excited!). They source premium ingredients by vetting their vendors, and they do so mindfully. You won’t find GMO ingredients, seed oils, vegetable oils, refined sugars and salts, and artificial colors and flavors. LesserEvil snacks, such as Interstellar Cheddar and Pizza-Flavored Space Balls, and Himalayan Pink Salt popcorn, offer tasty, healthier alternatives. You can find Nature Made at naturemade.com and at Target, Walgreens and Amazon and LesserEvil at LesserEvil.com and at Target and Walmart. https://lnkd.in/eEVRySWx
