Would you bet on an #entrepreneur 10X-ing their company in 10 years if they played with a stuffed bull 🐂 and stuffed horse 🐴 during an all-day EOS® training session? If it's this entrepreneur—Rob Van Vleet, Owner and Integrator of Van Vleet Construction—I would! Rob, Angel Engstrom, and Jordan Higgins make one of the best #leadershipteams I've seen in my 38-year career. In just two years, they've increased revenue by over 300% 📈, and they have a blast doing it! Big shout-out to this amazing team; keep rocking it! 🎉

Who says engineers aren't fun to work with? Despite facing tough challenges, the Stolfus & Associates, Inc. leadership team—Elizabeth Stolfus, Steve Mystkowski, and Michelle Hansen—celebrated one of their many wins for the quarter with an all-team fist 5 ✊ and a lively game of "Keep Uppy." 🎈 In a teaching moment, I shared a concept I learned early on: It's much better for leaders to be respected than liked. 🧠 This insight came from an interview with Don Shula, Hall of Fame coach of the Miami Dolphins—the only coach to lead a professional football team to an undefeated season: Reporter: “I hear that you’re a ‘players’ coach.’” Coach Shula: “I couldn’t care less if my players like me or not; I do care that they respect me.” Coach Shula’s perspective reshaped my thinking. Over the next 30+ years of working with leaders, my experience has reinforced this lesson. If you want to be a high-performance leader, focus on earning respect. With pure intentions, it will naturally foster strong relationships with loyal team members. And, ironically, you’ll also ultimately be well-liked! 🌟

The new leadership team at Van Vleet Construction broke the fun meter! 😄 They laughed their way through their first all-day session, staying incredibly productive. It's like the 1960s all over again—what a gas! Lately, my teams seem to be laughing more than ever. Not sure if it's me, them, or all the reefer smoke drifting around Boulder County! But hey, I'm all for it! As Eisenhower said, "A sense of humor is part of the art of leadership, of getting along with people, of getting things done." My recent LinkedIn post about the Pinyon Environmental, Inc. leadership team highlighted their incredible humility. It became my most popular post ever, setting a new impressions record! Working with entrepreneurial leaders for 30 years, it was the first time I described a team as egoless. And guess what? They're not just humble; they're also growing stronger as a team. Here's a fun moment from our latest session: celebrating their #1 status with foam fingers (which seem to make grown men regress!). 🏆 Scott Epstein Karlene Thomas, P.E. Starting strong and finishing strong isn't just a sports concept; it's a game-changer in business too. Think about professional football, where the first 15 plays and the last two minutes of each half are crucially scripted. Or in running races, where a strong start and finish make all the difference. Edward Deming's 85/15 rule further emphasizes this: The first 15% of a business process determines 85% of its success. Today, the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC) leaders and I witnessed this firsthand. PSC's new CEO/Executive Director, Jim Lamancusa, is hitting the ground running, while Caitlyn Dudas, the PSC Founder and former CEO/Executive Director, transitioning to the Board, and Donald Castellucci, COO/Integrator, off to pursue an MBA, are ensuring seamless exits and finishing strong! It's a testament to their dedication and the team's strength. I’m super proud of everyone on this team for creating a great leadership transition. Join me in giving them a big shoutout!🌟 Caitlyn Dudas, Chris Bentley, Jim Lamancusa, Donald Castellucci, Erin Haas, Kristen Smith #LeadershipTransition #EOS #EOSLife #EOSWorldwide #EOSImplementer #LeadershipTeam #SmallBusinessOwner #Entrepreneurship #Traction

Here's a glimpse of the CORE Consultants, Inc. team enjoying a good laugh during our all-day #EOS® session! Laughter is underrated, but it's essential. As we work hard, laugh hard, and play hard, we're not just having fun—we're boosting our health and productivity. According to the Mayo Clinic, laughter increases endorphins, reduces stress, and improves mood. Plus, it's a natural painkiller! In my career in performance psychology, I've witnessed how laughter enhances team dynamics and boosts morale. Moreover, Mayo Clinic research also shows that laughter can enhance personal interactions. So let's keep those laughs coming—it's all part of our success formula! 😄 Blake Calvert Heather Calvert David Forbes, PE Kaley Konecny, SHRM-SCP #WorkHardLaughHardPlayHard #EOSLife #EOSWorldwide #EOSImplementer #LeadershipTeam #SmallBusinessOwner #Entrepreneurship #Traction

Recently, during an #EOS® session with the BlueBird Windows and Doors #leadershipteam of Brian Goldberg and John Forkan, we explored the profound insights embedded in three quotes, aiming to foster a high-performance organizational culture: 1. "Let go of the vine." 🌱 This wisdom from Gino Wickman, author of "Traction" and creator of the Entrepreneurial Operating System® (EOS), encourages company founders to relinquish control, trust others, and believe in the collective success of their organization. Trusting others can be challenging for founders accustomed to hands-on involvement. 2. "Discipline gives you freedom!" 💼 This is a personal mantra I shared. #Entrepreneurs, especially visionary founders, may resist discipline in various aspects, such as adhering to processes, sticking to plans, and avoiding distractions. Discipline, however, paves the path to freedom. By aligning short-term goals with long-term vision and consistently achieving milestones, entrepreneurs gain financial, time, and creative freedom. 3. "Talk don’t cook rice." 🗣️ This ancient Chinese proverb emphasizes the importance of action over mere planning or discussion. Actions speak louder than words; taking tangible steps is essential for progress. How do these quotes intersect? Consider an entrepreneur who decides to delegate responsibilities (letting go of the vine) and takes disciplined action to ensure success. They embody the ethos of "talk don’t cook rice" by transitioning from discussion to action. Through teaching, coaching, and accountability, they empower their team, ultimately fostering a high-performance culture. This cycle of trust, discipline, and action leads to greater time freedom, team competency, and organizational success. High-performing teams translate into increased profitability, distinguishing themselves in the market. #TeamBuilding #Innovation #Success #Motivation #GoalSetting #HighPerformance #EOSLife #EOSWorldwide #EOSImplementer #SmallBusinessOwner #Entrepreneurship #Traction
