Long vacations or long weekends? I prefer to take a lot of long weekends, using my PTO to take Mondays off during the summer and the Fall holidays vs. taking a couple of long vacations. For one thing, I tend to get bored doing one thing for a long period, so I can't see myself staying at a vacation resort for a full week, for example. I prefer the frequent "rest and recharge" breaks that long weekends deliver. Plus, they are less disruptive, work-wise. Planning around a missed day is easier than planning around a missed week or two. How do you prefer to use your PTO? Long weekends or long vacations? That's our thing since my wife has such a crazy schedule. However, back when I lived in the UK, I had 25 days paid vacation and my employer had a rule that we were REQUIRED to take 10 days consecutively once per year to ensure we fully disconnected. There's certainly a different attitude to vacation time in the US :)
I prefer looong vacations
Loooong vacations are better for me Joseph Tarnowski Two to three weeks if possible This years bucket list destination is Japan 🇯🇵 Still looking forward to connecting in Astoria some time soon 👍🙏
I would like to have both! Joseph Tarnowski Why we choose A or B if we are able to manage both:) But of course we have to work hard to earn it. 😊✊🙌
I’m with you. I take Fridays off in the summer. Allows me to enjoy the Michigan summers and get a head start on beating the traffic!
