Annie has fought through a cancer diagnosis and never gives up in bringing her best to class to help others grow stronger together. On Friday State Representative Joan Meschino and her team visited with our South Shore YMCA staff to discuss the needs of her constituents in Hull, Hingham, and Cohasset, and how the Y can help those communities grow. Rep. Meschino joined us to tour the South Shore Natural Science Center, including the construction of the new Nature Center Preschool building, the Emilson YMCA Outdoor Aquatic Center, and the South Shore YMCA Family Farm. Our growing Aquafit community held its first annual Summer Aqua Luncheon this month, and it was a huge success! Participants had a fabulous time connecting and socializing, and together collected over $540 to our Send a Kid to Camp campaign! A great way to see everyone in their red, white and blue to kickoff the start of summer and Flag Day. An extra shout out to Pat for the beautiful centerpieces. The South Shore Y is proud of our Early Learning Center preschoolers who graduate from our program this month. Our three preschool programs, SSYMCA State Street Early Learning Center in Quincy, SSYMCA Nature Center Preschool in Norwell, and SSYMCA Early Learning Center in Hanover, all held special moving up ceremonies for these young graduates and their loved ones to attend.
