NATALEE, an international, open-label, randomized, phase 3 trial investigating the efficacy and safety of ribociclib, in combination with a nonsteroidal aromatase inhibitor (NSAI), in patients with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative early #BreastCancer The trial enrolled patients with stage II or III breast cancer, assigning them to receive either ribociclib plus an NSAI or an NSAI alone. The primary endpoint, invasive disease–free survival, demonstrated a significant benefit with ribociclib plus NSAI compared to NSAI alone. Secondary endpoints including distant disease–free survival and recurrence-free survival also favored the combination therapy. Importantly, the regimen was not associated with new safety concerns. These results suggest that ribociclib in conjunction with an NSAI improves outcomes for patients with early HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer.
